2nd UN Ocean Decade Regional Conference and the 11th WESTPAC Marine Science Conference πΉπ
πΉπ Excited to be part of the 2nd UN Ocean Decade Regional Conference and the 11th WESTPAC Marine Science Conference in Bangkok, Thailand!
π I'm thrilled to meet with colleagues from the large consortium I've led in SEA over the past three years as part of the NERC Award on the SEAP Programme. Our consortium on Plastic Pollution in SE Asia kicked off during the pandemic, so meeting in person with wonderful Co-Is and their highly motivated students means so much to me! Proud to join forces with the NERC team to drive meaningful change for our planet's future.
π SE Asia and the Western Pacific Region's oceans, seas, and coastal areas are crucial for ecological, social, and economic well-being. This conference is pivotal in translating the recent Barcelona Statement and the roadmap for the future of the Ocean Decade into actionable strategies at the regional level.
π‘ Iβve been inspired by the rich discussions and new collaborations emerging here. Together, weβre focusing on innovative solutions for biodiversity and combating plastic pollution.
πLetβs keep pushing for innovative solutions and raising awareness to protect the unique ecosystems of Southeast Asia! ππ
